Now that you've decided on a Disney vacation you may be wondering exactly what you are allowed to bring into the theme parks and how you should dress. Let's start with some tips regarding what to bring.

· a sweater, poncho or umbrella in case the weather changes

What to wear

For starters, dress for comfort. You will probably be spending a majority of your day outdoors so dress accordingly. This should of course include your shoe choice. Wear shoes that you are comfortable walking around in all day. Be sure to check the weather forecast each morning before you get to the park so that you can have an idea of what to expect.

What not to wear

Aside from special events that allow dressing up, masks are not allowed on Disney property. Clothing should not have any obscene or objectionable graphics or language. And excessive portions of the skin should not be exposed if it is not appropriate for the family environment that Disney upholds. And any objectionable tattoos should also be covered up.

Prohibited items

Use common sense when you are trying to decide what to leave behind. Remember that, unless they are service animals, pets are not allowed on theme park property. There are a number of animal shelters you can take your pets to in the event you are traveling with one. For safety, items with wheels (e.g., skateboards, scooters, shoes with built-in wheels, inline skates, suitcases, coolers or strollers larger than 36" x 72") are not permitted. As you may have guessed, alcoholic beverages and weapons of any kind are prohibited, as are glass containers excluding perfume bottles and baby food jars.

Wheelchair and stroller rentals

Guests who require a wheelchair or electronic convenience vehicle (ECV) need not worry because both are available for rental at Guest Services. There is even a Length of Stay rental option for just per day. You can also rent strollers too. This means you don't have to worry about the hassle of packing a wheelchair or stroller in the event you are traveling a long distance to Disney.

Special needs

There are a number of special-needs services offered at Disney. From special dietary options to accommodations at Disney Resorts, all you have to do is ask a cast member or visit Guest Services with your request and they will assist you in any way they can. There are even Baby Care Centers throughout the theme parks where you can change and feed your baby. This is also the place to where lost children are usually taken. First Aid centers are also located throughout the theme parks in the event you are in need of care.

That sums it up. Remember to pack wisely and don't hesitate to ask questions about restrictions regarding what you are allowed to bring on Disney property.
